New build dwellinghouse, St Mary's Garden, Perry Hill, Worplesdon
Plans have now been submitted to Guildford Borough Council for this large family home on a quiet and secluded site at St Mary's Garden, Perry Hill in the Worplesdon Conservation Area, north of Guildford in Surrey.
Alex Coleman Associates were first approached by a private client in 2016 to design a house on a difficult but beautiful Green Belt site which would meet the needs of his family following his retirement from professional practice.
The proposed development seeks to use traditional building styles and materials consistent with those found in other residential developments within the locality. The proposals for a new-build dwelling are appropriate to the site, both preserving and enhancing the Worplesdon Conservation Area.
Access to the site is via a private drive off Worplesdon Road and shared access to the site of the now demolished Bonsai Centre.
Timber entrance gates will provide access on to the site itself via a rolled gravel driveway which sweeps round to a detached double garage to the north east of the site, with additional parking on the driveway.
The proposed development seeks to use traditional building styles and materials found throughout the Worplesdon Conservation Area, making it appropriate for the site whilst also preserving and enhancing its wider surroundings.
